The relatively compact 2021 Jeep Compass is trail-rated just like every other Jeep on the planet. It has off-road tuned suspension, tires, and skid plates, among many other upscale off-road utilities. It’s also one of Jeep’s most affordable and popular family SUVs that dishes out a remarkably spacious ride for a compact auto. Don White’s Timonium Jeep near Parkville Baltimore Towson Bel Air Maryland invites you to get to know the 2021 Jeep Compass in Cockeysville. We think you’re really going to love the ride. This year’s trims include the Sport, Latitude, Limited, and Trailhawk. Be sure to ask us about special 80th anniversary editions of the Latitude, and a special “Altitude” variant that will hit home with many buyers.
Each vehicle has National and Regional that are included in the advertised internet price. There may be additional incentives for which you may qualify (conditional). Please add sales tax, MVA tag and title fees, destination charge, and $800 processing fee (not required by law).
The Compass is less boxy than any other Jeep model, and that’s one reason that it remains so positively beloved despite its slightly more “family SUV” oriented personality. You can still off-road in the Compass better than you can with any other SUV, and that shows up in its exterior spark. The Sport gets simple steel wheels, but that’s upgraded to alloy wheels on the Latitude. The Latitude also grabs fog lights and even automatic headlights that adjust with nighttime driving. Remote engine start is a Limited standard features, as is an auto-dimming rearview mirror. Want to go the whole nine yards and transform the Compass into the ultimate off-road machine? Make sure you get the AWD Trailhawk! It features tow hooks, off-road tires, and a raised suspension so that you can boldly roll over any natural environment you set your heart on. Select from optional features like Xenon headlights, too!
The base model of the 2021 Jeep Compass in Cockeysville is a good example of just how much utility and comfort the Compass offers. It has automatic dual-zone climate control, a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, and a more than your average 6-speaker base model audio experience. You can easily integrate your smartphone information into your Compass via Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. A simple 60/40 split rear bench seat provides rear passengers with a cozy environment to look forward to their adventure. Starting with the Limited, you’ll enjoy an 8.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system, leather seating, and plenty of toasty heated gear to keep you warm in winter. For example, you can get heated front seats and a heated steering wheel, something that is usually reserved for the highest trim. Jeep gives you it here instead for less money. The Trailhawk is also blessed with leather-trim, and then optional features include an Alpine premium audio system and even sunroof.
Two transmissions are available on the Compass, with the old manual transmission completely absent from the lineup. A 6-speed automatic transmission is standard on the Compass, but a much more powerful and efficient 9-speed automatic is available on higher trims. It’s going to be the transmission on AWD versions. The added traction and stability is more than worth it to choose this transmission, but if your needs don’t call for a lot of wheel-moving power, the 6-speed is an excellent choice. You can save some money left over for other perks on the Compass.
The Compass is energized by a 2.4L 4-cylinder engine rated at 180 horsepower. It’s the 175 lb-ft of torque that makes the Compass the muscular model it is, though. Front-wheel drive is standard, but anyone can upgrade this to Jeep’s legendary 4X4 configuration and harness the power of all four wheels.
Safety is Jeep’s area of expertise. They know how many people adventure in these SUVs and just how important it is to have a driver-assist system and stocky build to protect everyone in the family. The airbag lineup on the Compass is excellent as always. You get a driver front-impact airbag, passenger front-impact airbag, and even front passenger airbag occupancy sensor. Side impact beams give your family much needed protection.
Available driver assist features are standard on higher trims but will be optional on trims like the Sport. Safety packages can help you get features like blind spot, forward collision, and parking sensors all in one package for one flat rate. Many people choose to do this so that they can customize their driver-assist features. For example, some drivers don’t want to heavily rely on rearview camera and 360-degree views from the touchscreen display. We understand this, and Jeep most definitely understands this. That’s why they’ve made it easy to either get an all-in-one package or simply pick and choose which features are most important to you. All Compass models come with advanced features, though, such as ABS, brake assist, traction control, and electronic stability control. These are the real perks of choosing a new vehicle over a used one. You’re getting all the most modern features instead of having to settle for outdated ones.
