The team at Don White’s Timonium Jeep is thrilled to announce the Grand Cherokee L. The Grand Cherokee L is an extended version of the popular Grand Cherokee SUV, and Jeep has designed an entirely new platform in order to accommodate it. The extended wheelbase not only allows for a third row but more roominess in the first two rows, additional dedicated and available cargo space, a smoother ride and better handling. In fact, the new platform was such as success that the standard Grand Cherokee will be transitioning over to it for the next model year. As you expect from Jeep, the Grand Cherokee L offers true off-road and towing capabilities, and as you expect from the Grand Cherokee name, the Grand Cherokee L emphasizes luxury in every aspect of its design.
Each vehicle has National and Regional that are included in the advertised internet price. There may be additional incentives for which you may qualify (conditional). Please add sales tax, MVA tag and title fees, destination charge, and $800 processing fee (not required by law).
As mentioned in the introduction, the 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee L available at our location serving Hunt Valley Parkville Owings Mills Timonium Maryland has a longer wheelbase than the standard Grand Cherokee: 114.8 vs 121.7 inches. The Grand Cherokee L is also longer overall at 204.9 inches compared to the standard model, which measures 189.8 inches. The Grand Cherokee L is also about an inch wider for both aesthetic and handling purposes. Wheel sizes range from 18 to 21 inches. LED exterior lighting and a manual liftgate are standard. The Limited adds fog lamps. The Overland has Overland-specific features, including a unique front fascia, and the Summit has distinct badging, additional chrome and special 20-inch wheels.
An important note about this 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee L review is that as of this writing the Grand Cherokee L is still in preproduction. The details provided here are as accurate as possible but also incomplete and subject to change. We do know that the Grand Cherokee L will initially be available in four trims: Laredo, Limited, Overland and Summit. The base model will have premium cloth seating, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, a six-speaker sound system and a dozen USB ports. A sunroof is optional as is heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, a wireless charging pad and additional USB jacks. The most notable difference between the Limited and base model is leather upholstery. The Overland includes the sunroof, and the range-topping Summit special seating with heating, ventilation and a massaging feature.
Both rear-wheel and all-wheel drive will be available. As far as we know now, rear-wheel drive will be standard and all-wheel drive will be optional across all trim levels. Based on the current Grand Cherokee, we can presume that Jeep will offer both Quadra-Trac I and Quadra Trac II depending on the trim level. Quad-Trac I is a full-time system, and Quadra-Trac II is similar but optimized for off-road.
Our Jeep dealership serving Hunt Valley Parkville Owings Mills Timonium Maryland will offer at least two powertrains, both of which will feature an eight-speed automatic transmission. The base engine is a 3.6L V6 that makes 290 hp and 257 lb.-ft. of torque. An optional engine—presumed to be available at all trim levels—is a 5.7L HEMI V8 that makes 357 hp and 380 lb.-ft. Jeep will offer a trailering option and will likely include it with certain trims. That equipment will allow the Grand Cherokee L with the V6 to tow 6,200 pounds and the Grand Cherokee L with the V8 to tow 7,200 pounds.
The 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee L Laredo is equipped with the Uconnect 5 infotainment system. Features include an 8.4-inch touchscreen, a rearview camera system and wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The Limited and Overland offer a 10.1-inch touchscreen as an option, and the Summit will include it standard. Jeep will offer a full range of driver assistance technologies, including some new features, such as a night vision camera and intersection collision assist. Jeep’s new Active Driving Assist—a suite of autonomous driving technologies—will also be debuting with the Grand Cherokee L. It will be available with the base model and included standard with the Summit.
