Customers are often curious about how the Wrangler 4xe hybrid system works. The Wrangler 4xe has a plug-in hybrid system that combines a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine with two electric motors and a high-voltage battery pack. The system can operate in three modes: Hybrid, Electric and eSave. These modes have different operating characteristics, changing how the vehicle performs.
Hybrid mode uses both gas and electric power for optimal efficiency. The electric mode uses only battery power for zero-emission driving. eSave mode saves battery power for later use by using only gas power.
