The Hornet is a compact crossover SUV with four doors and a rear liftgate. The wheelbase is 103.8 inches. The ground clearance is 6.1 inches, and the length is 178.0 inches, which is about 14.8 feet.
The main difference is the powertrain. The 2023 Dodge Hornet GT will be the first model available at Don White’s Timonium Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram, and it with have a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that makes 268 horsepower. The R/T, on the other hand, will have a plug-in hybrid powertrain that has a battery pack, an electric motor and a turbocharged 1.3-liter three-cylinder engine. The combined output is 288 hp with better fuel performance. The R/T also has a PowerShot feature that can boost output by 30 hp for short periods. Both the GT and R/T are all-wheel-drive vehicles. The GT has a nine-speed automatic transmission, and the R/T has a six-speed automatic transmission.
The R/T has a Level 2 charging connection and can charge to full in just 2.5 hours.
As this is a compact crossover, seating capacity and legroom making our top 10 questions is unsurprising. This is a five-passenger vehicle. As of this writing, Dodge has not released the official interior specifications for the 2023 Dodge Hornet, but based on the Alfa Romeo Tonale, we presume 40 inches of front legroom and 39 inches of second-row legroom.
